Diaphanous

I forgot I was a poet…
a very thin veil or curtain with a window behind it

Diaphanous

I forgot I was a poet
for a little while today.
The world went somewhat
dark and drab
and faded into grey.

But when I sought the part of me
that I had brushed aside
I felt it settle over me—
a veil upon its bride.

How soft it sits upon me…
How easily cast off…
